its a fiesta,it happens just before i stop completely

the breaks have been checked and are fine the 1st thing is a rod change,he said its the cheapest thing to change,bout £35 all in

Could be your brake pads have gone down to the metal stage and are just scraping your discs. Or the brake disc (rotor) may be a bit loose. Check both.

Other than this, the left suspension bushes may be worn and in this case I would check the bush for the stabiliser rod first.

My first thought was the drums but thinking a bit, it could be your suspension. It is highly likely that as you break, the stress on the suspension is contributing to some damage. Regardless of whether or not it is the suspension, it's extremely important to have it checked, in case. If it's the suspension breaking and you do nothing about it, you can easily be involved in a serious accident. If the suspension fails at high speed (motorway driving etc.), you can kill others as well as yourself. Get it checked asap!

What is a 'rod change?' I would take it to someone that knows what they're on about and knows what they're doing. You don't want to take chances with brakes. I may be in front of you at the lights!

sounds like a brake pad . id check the gaiter that side for leaks.
it sounds like some thing has contaminated the pads

If you don't DIY take it to a mechanic ASAP!
