Ive been asked by a bunch of my female friends to be a girl for Halloween. How do i make this convincing?

First of all, please refrain from the thats gay or your in the closet stuff, its for halloween, not every friday night at the club, grow up.
Secondly, they all want to see what i come up with on my own, and i want to make it as realistic as possible as far as the clothing goes. Im willing to do just about anything as it will get a good laugh. a couple of suggestions i have come across are to shave my legs and paint my nails and wear some high heels (i know id have to practice, so i may forego this) in addition to opinions on these things what should i wear; dress, skirt, tight jeans? ive also been told if i need it the girls will do my makeup, though i doubt they think i will go that far. Again, im looking for it to be a great costume so any other tips would be greatly appreciated such as where to buy and style of particular clothing.

Try to get some of your girl friends are involved in the process, think of all the attention you'll be receiving. Definitely try to shave legs and arms, chest if low cut. Dress or skirt will be new for you and therefore more fun, as well as some sort of heels.
Thrift stores and Pay less a lot cheaper for a 1 time buy.

I've done this a few times, mine wasn't by choice though. I was given to wear a bra with water balloons to stuff them, tank top, mini skirt, thong, stockings with garter belt, high heels, wig, full make up, purse, shaved legs, and under arms. The other times I wore a full length formal dress, sun dress, and I was also a french maid once. We went on a scavenger hunt at one party out in public, and I was the one sent into every store. It turned out to be a lot of fun and everyone got a good laugh out of it all. The water balloons seemed to work pretty well, they gave a good bounce when I walked and everything. Have fun with it! First - to everyone here posting about GOD - get over yourselves - it's Halloween, you're supposed to dress up and have fun.

Second - A wig would be helpful, definitely a skirt, shave your legs, nail polish is a great idea. Go down to your local thrift shop to see what they have. Don't forget to stuff a bra.

I would even take it a step further and pick a particular woman to be - ex. Lucille Ball or Madonna

First, forget the high heels--you're likely to break an ankle. Go with low platform heels. That will give you enough of a look and a more feminine posture. You don't have to shave your legs, either. Go with solid blue or black pantyhose, and a knee-length skirt. (The Scots have been doing this for years with kilts and you'll find it very comfortable, if possibly a bit breezier than you're used to). A medium size support bra and a couple of pairs of rolled-up clean gym socks should suffice for your bust, with a blouse or turtleneck sweater for a top (ask your female friends for help with color matches, etc.). You should ask for help with makeup, but ask them to do a straight makeup, not a slutty look--you may want to go with an inexpensive wig, unless your hair is long enough to style, or you want to go with a shorter cut.
A warning--DO NOT SHAVE YOUR EYEBROWS--they don't easily grow back--makeup can cover and/or accent.
Above all, watch girls. Observe and practice movement, gesture, facial expressions, speech patterns.
You may surprise your friends and yourself by All-Hallows Eve!

Haha, well, you'll need some falsies, TP just won't cut it! Go to a wedding or prom supply to find them.

A wig, unless you have sorta longer her. Actually, pulling off a slightly butch chick might be easiest...

High heels are important though! You should practice walking in them. They suck, and you can slip them off later, but when you walk in to make the first impression you should have some on.

I recommend something with pants or a skirt with blouse, because most dresses just won't be able to hide a guy's shoulders. Maybe a scarf to hide an adam's apple, also...

You have some good ideas already, painting your nails and shaving. you should also shave under your arms. then wear a skirt and halter top or a full dress and stockings are good. Don't forget the hair. I say go 80's! Have fun!

Wig, fake eyelashes, make-up.
If you can ask a woman to help you get dressed.
Look up what is in fashion so you really look hot.
Don't over do it.
Socks are probably the best way to fake boobs.
You will have a good time.
Just don't get used to it (Just kidding).
i did it once for halloween a long time ago, but my girlfriend helped me so it was a lot easier.

Dude, you can make this great. You're obviously not a girl, so you don't want to be believable. Just play up the fact that you're a dude in drag. Sloppy makeup, over-the-top clothes like high heels and tons of fake jewelry. Don't try to be believable. It's manlier to be an obvious imitation.

A dress or skirt will definitely get you major points as opposed to pants. You should be able to get some stick on nails for very cheap. You may want to shave your armpits and legs. If you dont want to shave you legs, you "could" get some thick nylons that would cover up the hair on your legs. Get some heels you are used to wearing - meaning, you will have to wear them beforehand to get used to them. Its easy to do, but it just takes a bit of practice. Have the girls do your makeup - as much you may not like it, it will turn out better than you trying to put on blush, mascara and lipstick - plus, I am sure they will loooove doing it :)
