Yes, it is fine. It is actually recommended that all women of child bearing age take prenatal vitamins, because you're better off in case of accidental pregnancy, and because you should technically start them a while before you get pregnant.

My wife has been on pre-natal vitamins for the last 16 years (and our youngest child is now 19). She is unable to take any vitamins that have vitamin E in them, and the prenatals are the only ones which do not (it can cause birth defects). 28mg of iron is the standard dose for an ordinary iron tablet, so it should not be an issue. Many doctors recommend more for women who are still having their "monthly".

You are meant to take prenatal vitamins at least 3 months before trying to conceive, so you'll be fine as long as you take vitamins designed for pregnant women.

yes it's fine hunny. I'm not "trying" to get pregnant and I'm on them because the dr told me to take them to make my immune system better, because of things going on lately. Most women start taking them while trying to concieve, to give the baby a better chance.
