What did Luther Vandross really die from?

Luther Vandross reportely died from a stroke, but prior to him dying he had the look of someone that was suffering from AIDS, not a stroke. Though the "Offical" answer was that he'd died from a stroke, I'm not so sure he really died from that.

Why should it matter what he died from? Luther Vandross suffered a massive stroke April 2003 and had lain with the effects of it undiscovered for 8 hours. He had lost his ability to walk, to speak etc. Complicating matters, he was diabetic and hypertensive. When he made an appearance on the Oprah Show months before his death, he had severely slurred speech ( worse than Dick Clark's)
Debilitating strokes also have the effect of making the person severely depressed.
Stroke victim's bodies react differently BUT the one thing I had seen with a few of the people that I knew who suffered from catastrophic strokes was that prior to their deaths, they lost a dramatic amount of weight due to not wanting to eat and the body slowly cannibalizing itself to keep functioning until organs shut down and death occurs

Strokes can be mild to very disabling. If a person suffered a very disabling stroke, it may take months to years to recover. Sometimes recovery is not possible. It is also easy to become depressed in the aftermath of a stroke. If/when this happens, the person may not be able to eat or even refuse to eat. This can give a person that "wasting-away" look that you are confusing with AIDS.
