This is a complex answer. ignorant people like magic marker will tell you that wretling is all fake and scripted and such. Every move you see them doo, that is all real, when a guy does a german suplex, he is actually getting suplexed and it does hurt. however wretlers have been trained extensively so they know how to pull off these moves without sustaining injury. but things do go wrong and superstars get injured.
Every move is, well its like a dance( cant think of a better alalogy) each wrestler has to know what to do, in the case of a german for example, the giver lifts while the reciever pushes off with his legs, it requires cooperation from both participants. if the other wrestler doesnt cooperate, it is called 'sandbagging' and as you can guess, its gets them in trouble, and causes injury.
The matches arent all scripted as some would lead you to believe, the only planned moves are the 'big' moves, such as finishers, or ones that win the match, because yes, the loser nad winner of the match is planned in most cases, at least those involving a storyline. But there are some where it is not scripted, this is to judge the talent of the wretlers involved and how the fans respond, this gives them an idea of whether or not they would be a good investment to the company.

That's a touchy subject. Allow me to explain.
Wrestling is like a soap opera mixed with athletics. There is a story that has to be told. This person has to lose to this other person to keep a rivalry/hatred going. That person has to win over this person because he's the champ and everyone loves the champ. There are scriptwriters who write who win and lose, so everything is predetermined.
But what happens in the ring is real. The blood is real (although may come from razorblade cuts and such). The movements must be done correctly so that you don't hurt the other person. Taking just a clothesline in a ring will make your spine ache for a week.
WWE stands for World Wrestling Entertainment. Wrestlers aren't athletes. They are entertainers, just like someone on Broadway. They act like they do to get reactions out of the fans.

It isn't fake, because if it was, all of these superstars like HHH and Bobby Lashley wouldn't have shoulder and knee issues, that lead up to a surgery. It is all based on a storyline, and sometimes something goes wrong, and someone really gets hurt. All the technicality is real.

Fake in terms of competition, the outcomes are pre-determined. Real in terms of requiring athletic ability and skill along with the possibility of injury.
