I don't know about the style. It's been growing on me and it should gain mainstream acceptance, but it's not a model for others to follow. It seems instead to have followed other designs itself--there are hints of Toyota, Mazda, Acura and Chrysler in the overall look.
When it comes to safety, however, the 08 Impreza is absolutely outstanding. In addition to a host of safety features, it's the first vehicle ever to earn a top rating in Australia's pedestrian test, in addition to providing exceptional protection in frontal offset, side-barrier and side-into-pole tests. In the IIHS offset frontal test in the US, no other small car (and few midsize cars, for that matter) allowed so little intrusion into the occupant compartment. It's one of the best illustrations of crash protection and pedestrian safety I've yet seen.

Don't know much about it's features... almost sounds like trainiax is a Suby salesman...
I love Subaru's..... but this thing they call an 08 WRX is ugly.... simple as that. I would never buy one, and I hope they change their styling soon because I've been telling myself the next brand new car I'm getting will be another Subaru... doesn't look like it will be another Impreza though. Keep up the good work with the Legacy though, don't destroy that model please.

Terrible enough that I will either wait for the next remodel to see if it improves or I am seriously looking at going with another make for my next vehicle - perhaps the new Mitsubishi Lancer EVO

as for safety, subaru has always been top notch expecially lately. they use a pillar design with multiple layers and many rescuers at crash scenes attest to the Jaws of Life not even being able to "bite" through the main pillar to get open doors...as for looks....the MY08 is hideous, i absolutly loved the older peanut eyed version two remakes ago

Yes it is most safest and stylish but a lil too stylish in the front.

As far as looks go, the sedan is ok.
The hatchback though is an abortion, and should be eradicated from the Earth before it infects the rest of the range.
