I made him leave last night, he will NOT hit me again! I need to ask for allimony(sp?) too because I cant pay all the bills by myself. I really am not as upset as I thought I would be about the situation. I guess after 2 years of hell...you really dont care anymore. I work 3 jobs and struggle to do what I can but I do a pretty good job! Anyway I guess I just need some advice and some one to tell me it will be ok! I know life will go on...but sometimes it doesnt feel that way. I will hold my head high and carry myself like I always have! I can tell you one thing though, I WILL SURVIVE! lol. thanks in advance!

You have done the right thing. no man or woman has the right to hurt you . I feel for you greatly. I have seen a lot of my friends go though this. You must file a police report now, not tomorrow. I see from your statement that you want to be strong. It's OK , let your heart bleed a little. So the healing can began..

Know the law or learn the law first. If violence is an issue the first step is always to separate your self as fast as possible then obtain a restraining order. Legal seperation depends on which state you're in. For example the state of Texas don't have a such thing as legal separation -- It's either you're divorced or you're married. Secondly for alimony you need to be married more than 10 years. The next thing is Spousal Support & you are eligble for that only if he makes a certain amount more than you. Do research on your local laws on this via the Internet.
You are right you will survive, it is always our choice whether we will continue to be the victim. Girl see yourself as victorious and get away as far as you can!

Alimony is for people typically married for over 10 years and who have a large difference between their incomes. Typical award is 20% of the difference between the spouses incomes for a length of time of about 1/3 of the length of the marriage. Considering that you work 2 jobs, you must have a fairly nice income to live off of. I suggest renting out a room to a college girl, or another woman in a situation like yourself, to help pay the bills. The paperwork is all available online and at the couthouse law library. I am my own lawyer for our divorce, just so you know that you too can do it on your own.
