I'm a 26 yr old ___ and my girlfriend and I have been together for almost 2 yrs. I work a full time job but recently inquired about a cocktail waitressing job at a lounge a block away from my house. I would work 1 night a week and my g/f is against it. She doesn't want me working in a bar environment a block away from my house. I just need extra money right now to pay off bills. I know she doesn't like the idea that guys might come onto me but I have no interest in men. If I was not with her I would defintely take the job. Any opions on this? Should I take it? Or any advice on how to speak to her and get her to see my side of things?

Remind her WHY you want the job - for $$. Ask her if she has any ideas how she could help you. If she can come up with a different solution - say her finding a job consider it - but if she is unwilling to do that tell her you are going to take the job.

Tell her what you will do is take the job and that the two of you can revisit this subject in a couple of weeks and see how you both feel after you have been there a while!

She is insecure. Tell her to come up with money.
