Illinois
Consider seeing Nauvoo-Home of the Mormons prior to leaving for Utah.
And close to St. Louis is Grafton. Located along the Mississippi river. And the “Great River Road”. Very scenic. Also has a ferry that takes automobiles back and forth to Missouri side.

well in minnesota i would imagine the Mall of America would be one of the most visited. In Illinois, Chicago would probably have many tourist sites like the Sears Tower and the Pier, and probably Magnificent Mile.

MN - Boundary Waters Canoe Area (cheap), Voyageurs National Park (cheap), Mall of America (pricey), Isle Royale (Pricey, MI but easy to reach from MN),

IL - Chicago (pricey), Lincoln Home (cheap - Springfield)
