I hope not - he's such a hypocrite! He's a "do what I say, not what I do" person.

BTW, I doesn't take much to be nominated! Our local blow-hard talk show guy got nominated because he asked a Congressman to nominate him.

Jet fuel is very economical as compared to other forms of transportation fuels.

"Jet fuel is very similar to diesel fuel, and a few aircraft engine manufacturers, most notably Thielert, have begun offering piston engines which run on jet fuel. This technology has great promise as a way to provide light, powerful, and environmentally-friendly engines for the general aviation market while simplifying airport logistics and phasing out leaded avgas. The current political climates make widespread adoption of this technology likely. However, economic factors mean it will probably take decades before avgas is completely eliminated."

Only rich Republicans are allowed to fly on private jets, right?

Typical rightwing tactic.

Attack the messenger, because you can't argue against the message.

Al Gore puts his money where his mouth is. He pays his own money to fund alternative energy in excess of what he spends on carbon-producing energy sources.

By the way, this is in no way analogous to "indulgences" as the phony rightwingers like to claim. Indulgences were a scam of the religious leaders and they had no impact on the real world.

The purchasing of credits to fund green energy sources has a very direct and positive impact on the planet.

Nobel Peace Prize, for selling indulgences, er, I mean carbon credits?

That's daming how? There are plenty of eco-friendly people who still drive cars and take planes because they are the technological apex of transportation. What did you honestly expect him to do? Ride a horse? If this is the best the right wing yo-yos have then I think Gore has nothing to worry about.

He is such a gosh darned good American that we all ought to cut back further on our emissions and sell our "carbon credits" (or whatever the heck the nutjobs call them) to him so he can continue spreading the emissions, uh, I mean the word.

Has he been nominated? I believe he would be the first US Vice President to win the Nobel Prize. We have had three Presidents win the Nobel Peace Prize and they were Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, and Jimmy Carter.

It would be nice but I doubt he will win it.

Let's see - Gore is trying to spread an important yet tough message that impacts all of us while YOU sit behind a computer and deride fellow citizens...

Further, Gore has served the public since the 1960s when he enlisted and went to Viet Nam. Now, he holds no office yet continues to work from his conscience on a subject that he truly believes is important to the US and the world.

Gee, who is the better American?

The Nobel prize has nothing to do with being a "true American".

Do you even know what he's been nominated for or how the process works?
