If you write a check, made out to me.
1. I can deposit it into my bank account.
2. I can go directly to my bank and with proper ID, receive cash.
3. If I am well known at a store, their service desk may cash it.
4. I could also make a purchase and the above store may give me change. NOTE: Most places will not accept a two party check.
5. There are "check cashing" outlets who will cash it.................
With a service fee.

In today's hi-tech world, any check can be verified for sufficient funds by Outside Services, like Verisign, or by ones own bank. The amount is immediately placed on hold on the account of the issuer of the check.

First the check must be written to you or it doesn't work. Then you must have a state issued id card to prove who you say you are. Next you sign the back of the check where it says endorse here. Then wither go to the Bank on the check, or even your bank, if you have one, and tell the teller you need to Cash the check. If it is not you bank they will usually have you put your right thumb print on the check also. Hope I helped!

Go to the bank where you have an account. Sign the check write your account number, and hand it to the csa so she/he can cash it for you.

or you can go to the bank where the check is drawn on, but you will have to present 2 pieces of identification, you might have to give a thumb print, and there might be a fee, depending on how much the check is for.

also if the check is over $500.00 the bank may call the customer to see if the check was actually issued to you.

if it is a two party check (made out to your from someone else} you have to endorse the back -- and take it to a bank (yours if you have an account or theirs if one is handy) or you could possibly get someone else to cash it for you by just giving you the money and they would inturn endorse the check and cash it themselves=== if it is a personal check you can either cash one at your bank or any place that takes personal checks == hope this helps!!!
