I would love to be a pirate, but a sexy one not one of those that are missing teeth. We could be pirates together...?

No. There are enough real pirates around, particularly in government and corporations.
Obscure?? There are still pirates today.
I would choose being a philosopher or an inventor.

I'm not a thrill seeker so no. I'd rather be an NBA player since I like basketball so much but that I want a profession that would last until I'm 60.

A privateer, which is a legal pirate on behalf of a government at war, If you do it right you don't get hung, you get promoted
to governor. The best part is you don't fight warships like the
poor bast*rds in the navy, you raid on unarmed commercial
vessels,so it can be low risk/high profit.

i think being a pirate would be cool, but if i could have any obscure profession umm let me think i think i would want to be a queen.

I am a pirate! And it's great, arrrgh! But if I hadn't gone to Capn' Red-bull's (no affiliate of soft drink) Pirate college for the Advancement of Bucaneers*, I would have probably gone to Gandolfs wizard school. ~They get all the perks

I would love to be a pirate if, my captain were cute and muscular, and I got to wear, well nothing, I guess. If I couldn't be a pirate, I would love to be a dragon.
