First, the practioners spell it Magick to differentiate what they do from the magicians.
You need to either find someone to tutor you, or get some books. I would start with an internet search on magick

Go to your library or bookstore and look at the books in the occult section. Some are better than others. Some are awful. Read a lot of them and after a while you will get a clue as to which books are better, though I will give you a list of some good ones. You should also look at different magickal traditions and get a sense of what you gravitate toward. There's Wicca, Voodoo, Thelema, Chaos Magick, and others. Most of these are religions that have a magickal aspect to them. If you only want spellcasting without the religion you can do that too. Also, there are Wiccans that don't cast spells. So it gets complicated, when you meet someone, you can't assume what they do. Start off slowly with meditation exercises before you do spellwork. Magick is all about controlling your own mind. You have to be able to do that first. Also be clear about your morals and always add "Harm be to none" when you cast spells. Spells can backfire and do unintended harm. Here's some books for you: “Meditation for Beginners” by Jack Kornfield "The One Year Manual" by Israel Regardie "Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft" by Raymond Buckland "Modern Magick: Eleven Lessons in the High Magickal Arts" by Donald Kraig "Postmodern Magic: The Art of Magic in the Information Age" by Patrick Dunn “The Spiral Dance” by Starhawk “Dreaming the Dark” by Starhawk

is this other person your only reason for having an interest in magick? if it is, it's not the best reason to get into magick. this person could really be lying to you and using a technique that fake psychics use called cold reading. basically, it starts out that a person picks up visual cues from you such as your clothing, your facial expression etc. they will tell you something that would really be completely obvious if you thought about it. by watching how you react, they will know what to pick up on next. like when fake psychics say some dead relatives name begins with "s" or "w" or maybe "n." they are watching your reaction to each letter to lead them in the right direction.
next time you're around him, take a deep breath and just watch what he's saying.
you need to stop being frightened. it won't do you any good and he can probably pick up on your fear and discomfort. he's probably just using you and the power you believe he has over you to stroke his own ego. there is probably no "other magician" that is feeding him info. he's probably picking it all up from you.
now, if that doesn't help you to be less afraid, here's about the simplest protective exercise to do.
go someplace where you can be calm and alone. take several deep breaths and just release any tension you feel. either imagine it flowing into the ground or flying off of you and disintegrating, whatever works for you.
imagine a bluish white light forming a circle around you from head to toe. see that circle spinning faster and faster.
imagine that circle rotating around you so that you are enclosed in a bubble, basically.
don't worry about whether or not you actually "see" the bubble. just know that it is there. when you think about it, think about it protecting you and your thoughts. think about it being impenetrable to this guy and anyone who is associated with him. think about how he cannot see your actions or your thoughts. keep these things in mind when you are forming the bubble.
i hope this helps you a little.

Please calm down. The Power of attraction states that when one thinks negative a force exerts itself to ones cause. There fore you think negative, you recieve negative. It seems that this 'Magician' is either really truly a magician. Or he is looking up on your myspace, looking at you personal things, finding thing out about you. Take precaution. If this guy is really a magician, clear your mind. Don't think. And if you do think think of things like 'i know your listening' or alternitavely you could always google it. Magic is not a very well known practice in these eras. Most people believe it doesn't exist. Stay away from this person if he is scaring you. And for gods sake if this continues tell the police it could be a puetophile!

I know a few magic spells from way back. Unfortunately I cannot teach anyone my magic. I will lose all of my power if I share the secret with anybody. I only know 2 spells and they are lightning bolt and sandstorm. I used lightning bolt once back in 1986 when I was getting mugged by 3 black men down this dark alley in Houston. 2 of the men were vaporized, the other looked like a big piece of fried chicken, extra crispy.

Doesn't sound to me like this person is using magick.. like most of the others say, magick as such is not a power-trip, which is what is being done to you, my friend. Magick is a long hard road, involving much work on yourself, and personal honesty and other such things, not manipulating energy for gaining wealth or power over others.
Anyway, I suggest that you don't try to counter whatever this person is doing to you by using magickal means.. the natural laws will take care of this person if his intention is malicious or vainglorious. Simple meditations like imagining yourself surrounded by a sphere of light that reflects back all darkness might help. Praying might help, too. Most of the energy forms of the universe are unknowable to us, we haven't the competence to begin to approach them, but honest prayer definitely seems to resonate somewhere, bringing help.
Take care, and don't be afraid. That will only attract that which you seek to repel. I wish the best outcome for you from all this, whatever that might be.

You might spend some time researching the entire field. Magic, magick, energy work, dowsing, and the various other forms of energy manipulation are just a lot of different methods of doing the same thing.
Some are even approved by Christian religious institutions, if that concerns you. [Jose Silva comes to mind].
The guy who always knows what you are doing is probably just using surveillance technology that's out there cheap these days. You might look into that, also, and try to determine how he's doing it.
Most people aren't aware of what's happened to privacy over the past few years and what's out there in the hands of nosy private individuals who aren't restrained by scruples.
The websites below might give you a better idea of how the person could be doing whatever he's doing.

The following is from my book: Discovering the Basics of Magic, a Primer in Candle Magic.
Copyright Shewolf Silver Shadows
____________________________
Discovering the basics of magic is quite a simple undertaking. It is trying to uncover the more complex facets of magic that takes lifetimes to learn!
So what is magic really?
What kinds of magic are there and why do you see magic spelled as magick with a ‘k’ so often? There are many questions about magic, many myths about magic, and many theories about magic. I have to be honest with you and tell you now, that I cannot answer all of your questions about magic. Why can’t I answer all the questions about magic, if I have been practicing and studying the Craft for over twenty years? Well honey, honestly, if I had been studying for over fifty years or a hundred years, I doubt that I would have all of the answers where magic is concerned. Magic is something that is just so hard to actually define, and to place in one of those neat little categories that we humans seem to want to place everything in.
Magic is something that could take lifetimes to learn because there are just so many different kinds of magic, and so many different manners and ways to perform magic, that it would be difficult to guide or teach about magic on a whole. Also, this book has been created more for the beginning practitioner of the Craft or Wicca. Yes, Wicca does have magic within its practice and religion; however originally, more Traditional Witchcraft was not magic oriented. Not so in the manner of High Magic at least. Yes, the magic of healing and of herbs, and of Spell craft, are part of more traditional Witchcraft, but not the more Ceremonial Magic, or High Magic. If you want to learn more about Traditional Witchcraft and the Modern Religion of Wicca I recommend that you find yourself a copy of "Shadows of a Witch, For the Witch that seeks Balance and Truth”. I'll provide a link for it, in the back of this book.
Bullshit or the Flower
I will share with you here what I feel is good for a solid foundation, a good beginning and understanding of magic as best as I can share. I do suggest that you learn all you can about the things that interest you, if you wish to practice magic, then learn about it in as many ways as you can. Books, videos, music, nature, most of all nature, trial and error, but start small, get the feel of it, and a grasp of it. You have to crawl before you can walk. Again, I recommend that you be cautious on what you believe, and what you practice when dealing with magic. There is a lot of good stuff out there, but there is some crap out there as well; you will just have to wade through the bullshit to get to the flowers, so to speak. You will have to personally decide if this book is the bullshit or the Rose.

If you want to learn more I invite you to join the Wolfpath... there are several there that can and will help you in an honest and easy to understand manner... including myself. I teach Candle Magic classes and have been a praciticing witch for around a quarter of a century now;)
Good luck!

You don't need to be horrified. If he is a true magician he is following by the highest rule of "An if it harm none, do what thou wilt". The only reason you are scared is because it is something you don't understand. I and my household and my circle are all "magic folk". Magic is not something you learn over night or in one setting. Anyone who tries to sell it to you that way doesn't know true magic. There are websites you could search that could help inform you but it is always best to find a teacher, a person who will help you. I am willing to be that person if you desire. Simply contact me at my email digital.identities@gmail.com and I would be more than willing to help you down this path.
Blessed Be

You have to understand how magic works. It is the manipulation of energies to create a desired result. It is also the use of resources and abilities that is already there that most people don't even know exist.
Its a state of mind. Try meditating. If you don't think that you can do it then you are right. And if you know that you can do it then you probably don't know what you are truly capable of.
I suggest meditation and lots and lots of research. Good luck to you. And please don't be afraid. Once you understand you will see that there is nothing to be afraid of.

Magic isn't something you learn because you expect it to solve all your problems. You learn it to improve yourself, and by extension your life.
If someone knows a lot about you, it's probably because thyey've heard others talk about you or they've observed you. No magic required. If they are interfering in your life, you need to go to the authorities. Not wait for some mystical cure.
