"Need to"? As with most Philosophical questions, it depends.

From a theological standpoint, the Creator (according to most human belief systems) strongly suggests that doing all things with love is the way all things were intended to be done.

From an existentialist perspective, if all things are done with love, then it will be impossible to do those things that cannot be done with love, such as was or racism.

Rationalism rejects the idea completely, while Nihilism would lead one to ask why we should bother, because no action is preferable to any other. A Stoic would state that acting out of love is exactly NOT what we should do, because any action based on any emotion distorts truth. An Epicurean would say that perhaps you should act out of love sometimes, but only in those situations in which those actions do not cause you pain or fear.

Me? I'm a Jesus Freak. I believe that we should act out of love because I have benefited from the love-based actions of Another, and have been told to do likewise. I have a teacher, and in my pursuit of learning I attempt to emulate my teacher and do the things he did/does.

You do not NEED to do all things with love. No one says you need or must do them that way. We were created / came to be as distinct personalities each with our own free will (be it more or less free). Thus you are free to hate someone if you want, you are free to kill if you want... The only true question is "what do you want to be?". I heard someone say in a movie "we are what we choose to be" and, after thinking about this again and again, I think you cannot put it any better than that. So if you want to be a person full of rage / hate or anything else it is your choice. In my opinion we are born to experiment. And if you have experienced hate, rage, not caring about others (and so on) and then you decide to try out how it is to love... Well then you would see that doing everything with love and understanding has its benefits, not to other people, but to yourself. You will be a different person inside. But i cannot tell you how you will experience this... we all experience it in a different way. It is up to you to answer this question "do i like what i am when i do ALL things with love?". And i hope you find the answer to that question.

Because love is what makes the world go round. It brings people together, it makes the world a better place to live in and without it things just wouldn't be the same. There are many different types of love. Love for your spouse, job, kids or pets are just some. With so many types of love it is nearly impossible to do anything without love. People may not realize but if we were to remove love from everything we do this world would be horrible and cruel.

Because love is synonymous with so many other things. Compliance. Care. Wanting to help another. Being Cooperative. Looking past obligation and seeing the humanity of the situation.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves."

Now I'm pretty well sure that there isn't a person around who doesn't want to be in the company of a person who adopts those attributes.

Your problem is that you are accepting the original premise as being true. The question is not why do we need to do all things with love but should we do all things with love. Should we conduct a war with love? Hypothetically speaking, someone breaks into your house and takes your family hostage and plans to rape and kill them, do you treat them with love, do you kill them with love? I think not. Granted, these are extreme examples but you get the general premise.

You don't have to, but I would think most things just turn out better when done with Love.
