Is Humanity inherently good? Or do we inherently suck? Because many folks would make the argument. By nature, human's are selfish, greedy, violent, vain, narccissistic and unsatisfied-spoiled creatures. Which I can understand why people would say that. I agree with many of that without being completely generalizing. Especially when it comes to topics of money and sex a lot of those word fit right in. Because realistically, it never seem's that it's ever good enough. Even despite how good some might have it.

So do you think by nature, the human race is inherently good, or do we inherently suck?

Humanity is inherently bad. You will see this because no matter how angelic a child may seem they can be the cruelest most selfish little creatures on two feet.

I know that the opposite of what Prem declares is true. We must raise them and guide them to be good people. It’s not the opposite. We see this with children who grow up to be criminals because they had no childhood guidance. Sure there are exceptions to that rule but, it is not the norm.

This is the mistake that most people of the “liberal” persuasion make. They don’t/can’t grasp this fact so, they believe that the implementation of Marxist socio-economic ideologies will make this world a utopia contrary to what history proves.

Socialism grants absolute power. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

I think that the human race is inherently instictive. Call it good, bad, or whatever our environments make us at the time... Us humans behave in a manner that can be similiar to animals... after all... we have all the same organs, we have a brain, and we pee and deficate. We protect our young, and we have hair and nails, and we are built with a lot of the same parts, but just rearraged in a different mannor.
Murdering others is something considered (and is) a very bad behavior.. but it is also a fact of life.... People have always been angry at times and some of them take it to an extreme.
A shark in the water that wants to beat up, and eat a poor defenseless baby seal is considered part of nature....
A man in the woods during hunting season who shoots poor defenseless deer is considered a sportsman
A person who is being attacked and in self defense kills the attacker is considered a hero
I feel that instictlive.. just like the rest of the living-breathing-beings on Earth is a better term to use than good or bad.
Good and bad are terms that humans have made up in an attempt to take control over others and also to blame others for being anything less than perfect, as we were created. I don't think that in the wild kingdom there is good and bad.. just insticts. And we ARE part of the wild kingdom here on Earth. And we belong here just as equally as any other animal. And we need to stop pretending that we have the right to harm animals and their homes... because we are part of what we are destroying.

I think we are animals with an overly develped sense of self. In the animal kingdom there is no "good" and "bad". Critters kill and eat each other all the time to survive and insure their genetic continuation, they will even kill the babies of their own species if they are not of their lineage. Humans are no different, we just seem to need more stuff. Right and wrong, good and bad are human inventions that we impose on ourselves, in more extreme situations, like disasters and war, our true nature for survival emerges. I think humans are constantly at odds with what they need/ want, and what their society and childhood proclaim is a "good" person. No one wants to be the bad guy, even Hitler probably thought he was a just and fair leader.
To (finally) answer your question, I do not think the human race sucks, but we could use some more empathy for our fellow man in times of stress.

I think we inherently suck. We inherently suck from the day we are born. That is why our parents spent most of their time teaching us children manners, sharing, caring, love etc - all of which is against our grain. And, if we were born good, those traits would already be within us, and our parents wouldn't have to 'teach' us to be good people.

I usually think HUMANITY is a super duper good thing by Nature. However, some people might of Humanity as a curse as well as a blessing. I always thought Humanity was somewhere in between good and bad by Nature.

If humanity via nature replaced into stable then the situation of the international we are living in could be lots greater advantageous than the shithole that's now. Humanity itself is puffed up. maximum all of us is particularly above the smart and psychological ability of an orangutan. seem on the situation of the international and that i might ought to assert human nature is especially undesirable.

All people seek 'self' value, validation, worth, balance and happiness--this is simply individuality and Everyone has the right to their individuality.

The crux of the matter is when the individuality of one adversely affects the individuality of another--therein lies the sucky part.

"Protecting one's own life and individuality without regard for the protection of other's, creates fear, war, destruction, while supporting life and guaranteeing Equality in the pursuit of individuality lays a foundation of peace that leads to lasting happiness." 666 The Mark of America Seat of the Beast page 48-49.

If we are to believe the core teachings of the ancients ---
At true beginnings OF mankind, we were without evil, and, in a 'purified' state !! Then, there was a change. Some outside influence that happened that caused mankind to 'shift' from this ! Ever since this change, mankind has been anything BUT 'purified' !
Left to their own devices, mankind devises every conceivable
horror on any and all levels that he can access !! He consumes everything about himself with a rabid passion to
internalize everything ! This view is supported by all kinds of documented human history and thousands of ancient texts -- with even the Bible weighing in on the subject again and again with such scriptures that state --- "for all have sinned" -- and -- "there is a way that seems right unto man, but the ways thereof, are the ways of death" !!
But, in all of this -- there is "salvation" -- the existence OF a variant TO this sething cauldron of hopeless servatude to insatiable passions --- call it what you will --- here, I will call it
"light" --- this "light" comes in myriad forms and exists with equal if not dominate powers of influence over mankind and his "situation" !! But, this "light" must be sought, accepted, and nurtured for it to bring its unmeasurable benefits TO mankind !! And, through it, and by way OF it -- is the only hope that mankind has of ever reaching beyond his own circumstance of ceaseless self gratifications !!

So, in conclusion, by nature, mankind is a viper pit of horrific propensity to destroy and consume ! It is only by way of the external influences of "light" (name this as you will) that we have any reprieve from this and any resemblence to our beginning "selves" at all !!

We're a bunch of evil smucks. Bad by nature. Just study human history for that one. Think about how a city could come out and watch a person be burned to death, or how the Romans could watch people be ripped apart by wild animals and cheer for gladiators to kill one another. Think about wars. Think about women choosing security over loving a man. Think about rape, incest, violence, cruelty to animals. Think about the death penalty. Think about suicide, murder. Think about the Greeks buttf***ing their teenage pupils, and sodomy for that matter. Think about your own thoughts that you keep to yourself perhaps. We inherently suck. Sorry.
