Buy a tachometer made for you bike and follow the instructions on how to install.

You'll want to get an electronic tach and not a mechanical one. The electronic tach gets its signal from the ignition coil. Most of that type have a 12 volt positive wire, a ground wire and another that will connect to the coil. Just follow the instructions and you'll be fine.
