Laminate flooring is not designed for water, and any standing liquid may damage the planks.Mop the floor, using a back and forth motion to ensure that you don't miss any spots. Rinse and wring your mop or towel as needed to keep it clean and damp-dry.Allow the laminate floor to air dry completely before resuming traffic in the room. You must first try to sweep your floor thoroughly or vacuum with a hard-surface attachment to remove all dirt and grime from the laminate floor. Pay extra attention to nooks and crannies where dust may build up. Then mix a cleaning solution of 1/4 cup white vinegar to 1 gallon of warm water. Dip a mop into the vinegar solution and wring it until it is nearly dry. If your mop is the type that holds excess water, use a towel instead.

There is a solution called "red thunder." See if your local auto store has it. If not, soak the area in some other alcohol or cleaning agent, then gently come across the top with a razor blade. Brake wash also works. It soaks right in and wipes right up. Dries quickly and doesn't leave any residue. You can get that at your automotive store.

Use Goo Gone...it will remove the residue without disturbing the protective coating that's on the laminate.

Purchase a bottle of Goo-Gone at your supermarket or local home center. It will remove any sticky residue from anything without damage. It really works.
