I agree its silly, even though my 2 year may or may not remember things hopefully his life and personality will be shaped by the good experiences he has now. He may not remember going to the park or the zoo, etc., but hopefully the good times we had together shape his life. I would be hesistant to say take him to Disney not because of the memory thing but at age 2 I think he would be too young to get the full enjoyment out of it-I am not knocking anyone who thinks their 2 year old would like it but mine is very small for his age and couldn't ride many rides and still falls apart without a big nap midday. I have also kept his 1st 2 birthdays fairly low-key events with family, in part its hard to plan because his birthday is 2 days after christmas, but this year I added a some Sesame Street stuff because he loves it. Each year he gets more into birthdays I will plan a little more elaborate party because I know he'll get more out of it. So if I ever used the term "too young" i would have mispoke. I am pretty obsessed with keeping him happy regardless of whether he'll remember it, because it makes me happy to see him happy and I know it will pay dividends down the road.

I could never ever even know how you could forget. I don't even know how that could be possible. People are so stupid. One person I read was a principal at a school. I don't care if he doesn't normally take the child. If he didn't know the child was in the back then that would mean that his wife put her in the car and left her back there with out telling him which should be considered abandonment in it self.

Isn't that terrible? How could you possibly forget you had your child in the car with you? The only thing I can figure is that the mother didn't deliver the child to day care every day, or whatever, and when she had to she forgot about it. That's lame, but that's all I can figure. And, even if that's what happened, it's not excuse. It's your child, for goodness sake, not your dog!

I think it's a lot of bull crap, you don't forget your child, that's lame excuse to get away with murder. And what about the mother that swabbed her infants nose with a Q-tip that had meth on it, the baby died, but not from that, but from shaken baby syndrome. And what about the 4 year old girl missing, and her mother is a suspect. This world is going to hell in a hand basket. There seems to be to few people that value childrens life. Dear God help us!

My son went missing many years ago. I don't know what your question refers to; but I went through hell for 10 days. I couldn't eat, sleep or function. 13 years later I still feel physically sick. I had no control over his disappearance; he was "groomed" by a man who came to his school to talk about safety on railways. But I still feel guilty.
No woman could "forget" where her child was. What you are suggesting sickens me; I would never want a mother to go through what I went through.
The guilt and pain never leaves me.

Arrrrrrrgh!! when will people LEARN???? This not only sickens me but angers me! I would not leave a dog I loved in the car! My child goes with me where ever I go, not only because of environmental hazards but because of pedophiles. I wouldn't leave my child unattended ANYWHERE!

Yes. It is sickening because a child or pet is not a piece of property that can be left someplace and forgotten about.

And to think there are so many women out there who would give anything to conceive a child. Women who would make wonderful mothers and are not given the chance. It saddens me when animals take better care of their cubs.

Some people are just that absent minded. Young mothers often forget and have to be reminded.
Just another one of those things that happen. Not good that is for sure but they do happen.

How do you not know your child is in the car with you?!?! What fu cking idiots! That happened in my area, the lady was at work all day and she was like a nurse or something. I would always glance at my kids' carseats just thinking about them, missing them.
