Can putting too much bleach in your white wash turn your white's into that ugly yellow/greyish color?
I can't seem to keep my whites, pure white looking.
I use Clorex, because using a cheaper brand didn't do the job well at all.
My washing machine is clean. No residue.

You should be able to restore your clothes to white (and not damage the fibers of the fabric) by soaking them them in lukewarm water and color safe or oxygen bleach for 24 hours, then rinse them with vinegar and water. Use one tablespoon of vinegar to one quart of water. After treating them overnight, wash them in hot water with chlorine bleach added. This should refresh them to their original white state. If possible, dry them in the sun.)

First thing you need to know is NEVER pour bleach on top of the clothes. You will ruin everything it touches. If your machine has a bleach dispenser put it in there. It will release it after the cycle starts. If it doesn't have a dispenser then start your washer without the whites in it. When it's at least half full pour 1 cup of bleach in for a full load. This allows the bleach to be mixed in well. Add your laundry detergent then your whites. One cup is plenty for a full load but decrease the amount if the load is smaller. Also, the hotter the water the better the bleach works. Good Luck!

Yes, too much bleach will make your clothes yellow. I would wash them in hot water and oxyclean and then hang out in the sun. The sun will bleach them naturally. After a few times you should be okay to use a little bit of bleach again. Also, never buy generic bleach; keep using clorox.

Are you using hot water. If not I would try that usually seems to work better. Also Put in the bleach and the clothes in once all the water is all filled up
Hope this works!!!
Also the part that is yellow. Squeeze some Lemon on it and let it dry in the sun. That should get the Yellow away

Bleach is bad for your clothes, If you want your whites to say white them use natural soap. You can buy the good old fashioned soap bar, soap. For hand washing your whites, but Aerial do a Natural soap powder which I find great. Also once washing with natural soap ,hanging your clothes outside in the sun will bleach your clothes whiter than white

Yes, using bleach can turn your whites yellow, plus it eats away at your cloths, can burn holes in the fabric, and ruins the elastic. The bleach also stays in your cloths, and you absorb it through contact with the fabric, goes right into your blood stream and cells. It can cause you to have a rash and many other health issues. I personally use non-toxic cleaners that I purchase on the net, and just love them. Gets the cloths very clean and white with out the toxic chemicals, also environmentally friendly and bleach is not. It might be your water. I grew up out in the country with well water. It was very iron rich and using bleach slowly turned whites orange.
And using too much bleach will damage your whites. It degrades the fibers

Yes clorox will turn your clothes yellow after awhile. I have a friend who uses clorox for everything. Even her linoleum floors have turned a yellowish color. They look dirty all the time.
