Why are some people on here using the fact that Madeleine being an IVF baby, some how makes her even more"precious" to her parents? What about the millions of babies planned and very much wanted (my own one included) - are they not as "precious"? Therefore, why are they dismissing the fact that Kate could in fact be a suspect just because she conceived her children through IVF. Sounds like the McFann's are clutching at straws on this one.

Charlie - how do you know they were more desperate for a baby than anyone else? Just because they had IVF doesn't make them love their kids more! My son was conceived naturally and is the most precious person in the world to me, so please don't assume that IVF parents love their kids more than normal parents.

As you say: All children are precious, no matter how they were conceived.
The shame of it is, the McCann children aren't precious enough to their parents, otherwise they would never have been left alone while the parents had a night out.

My baby was a pleasent suprise! Previously known as a mistake LOL!
But he was very much wanted and is loved by us as much as any parent can!
I think the fact she is an IVF baby shows they made a very concious decision to have a child and had to go through treatment to do so - therefore were obviously depserate to be parents.
Then leave toddlers sleeping alone to go out to dinner.....
I don't think this is about the IVF child being loved more but they were very planned and sought after if that makes sense.

Put it this way, the years of trying and heart break every month and then being told you will never have children is for a woman who wants to have children's most devastatingly life and soul crushing words to hear.
Then you then have the treatment, weeks of poking prodding needles, blood samples, scan tests and drugs and even then there may be no out come.
People have babies every day and yes they are all precious but the miracle of modern science that can grant you that one wish makes IVF babies just that little bit more of a miracle.

I agree with you - and if they were so precious surely you do not go out and leave them alone in bed whilst you have dinner away from them! I know they did not do the snatching but I think they are responsible for leaving 3 small kids alone in a flat - anything could have happened!!! Although I feel for the poor girl I think the parents should have more sense and look after the kids properly. And they are doctors - God help us........

2 of my children weren't planned and I can't imagine loving them any more if I had been through IVF.
People adopt children and love them with all their hearts.
All children are precious and to say that parents that have had children using IVF love their children more is ridiculous.

Some parents abuse or murder their child/ren.
It doesn't matter how the child was conceived - if one or both parents have a problem with violence or prone to wrongdoing, then any child would be at risk - regardless of whether or not they were wanted or even longed-for.

its a well known phenomenon that parents who go through ivf, often find it harder to be parents because in their heads they have built up a fantasy about parenthood, through desparation and the time taken to get pregnant, the fantasy then doesnt live up to the reality and its very hard. more pressure.
