The Nature Boy Ric Flair
Sixteen World Heavyweight Titles a record which will NEVER be equaled. And along the way Flair has defeated just about every great wrestler to step in the ring over the past 30 years.
Ric Flair is #1 In Wrestling History

I won't pick just one as in story lines wise. You have a lot of talents through out the years of entertaining wrestling. You have big names like Hulk Hogan, HBK, Rick Flair, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero and many others. But then you have people who have been real wrestlers in the business like Gold medalist, two-time National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I champion, won the 1995 World Championship tournament, gold medal in heavyweight freestyle wrestling in the Olympics, Kurt Angle; Webster High School in Webster, South Dakota where in his senior year managed to have a 33-0 record, American mixed martial artist, former professional and amateur wrestler, won the 2000 National Collegiate Athletic Association wrestling championship as a heavyweight after placing second in 1999, finished his amateur career as a four-time all-American, two-time big-ten Champion and the 2000 NCAA heavyweight champion with a record of 106-5 overall in four years of college, Brock Lesnar; won three national amateur wrestling championships between 1996 and 1998, placing fourth in 1995, throughout 1997 and 1998 he was the NAIA National Wrestling Champion, competing at the weight of 177 pounds and All Army Wrestling Team, Bobby Lashley. So with that said I will believe that it all depends from what perspective you are talking about.

This is a very open ended question but I'll try my best to name several nominees.....
1. Obviously, Hulk Hogan. Not because of his in ring ability but because the impact he's had on the industry in general. No name will ever be more known world wide in Wrestling than Hulk Hogan. Safeto say, without Hogan, who knows where Wrestling would be today.
2. Nature Boy Ric Flair - his work in the 70's, 80's and 90's was very good. One of the few gifted with In Ring Skills as well as impeccable Mic Skills. He gets consideration because no one in history has more World Championship reigns than Flair. Although I think he's hurt his legacy over the last 3-5 years in WWE, he has to be considered one of the best.
3. Kurt Angle - The Modern Day peak of the mountain. I think pound for pound the best right now and the best this decade. He accomplished everything he could in WWE, has dominated the TNA scene and has mixed in awesome wrestling matches with every possible opponent imaginable and hilarious interviews. Wrestling may be fake but Angle takes pride in his craft, and if there is anyone around today that makes you believe its real, its Angle.
4. The Undertaker - The most steadfast steady employee WWE has had in the last 20 years. Has been consistently terrific despite the fact hes been given crap to work with for half of his career. Might go down as the best Big Man of All Time. Shame he hasnt been given the opportunity to have a long dominating reign as Champion, but his legend makes him capable of being the big draw of the night even without the gold. Definitely Vince McMahon's best creation outside of Hulk Hogan & WrestleMania.
5. Lastly, Booker T, and here's why - I know it sounds odd, but take into consideration the doors he has opened for African American Wrestlers in today's game. He;s been given the ball to run with on 6 different occasions. He is one of the select few to claim World Championships in both WCW & WWE. He has had over 30 major Championships in his career which is phenominal and quite mind boggling when you think about it.
Im sure there's plenty others out there, but I just went with 5. I'll sum it up with 2 different lists, take it for what you will:
Top 5 in ring performers of all time (in my eyes)
1. Kurt Angle
2. Chris Benoit
3. Bret Hart
4. Shawn Michaels
5. Macho Man Randy Savage
Top 5 biggest names
1. Hulk Hogan
2. Stone Cold Steve Austin
3. Ric Flair
4. The Rock
5. The Undertaker

"ever" is a strong word... Not sure I can answer that.
I had to think about it, but for now, maybe I'd make a tie between HBK and Bret Hart on their prime. I mean I enjoyed all the gimmik between these two too damn much... (and no, HBK didn't screw Bret, Montreal Screwjob was Vince idea )

Kurt Angle, Shelton Benjamin (I like him more because he can do the cool flip and turn maneuvers, as well as pure mat wrestling), Chris Benoit, Bret Hart, Mr. Perfect was excellent, technically, as well.
