Consuming poison it is a definite possibility. As far as snakes bites, I have seen many I would be surprised to see this type of reaction. A reaction of this type would most certainly come from neurotoxic venom typically found in the Elapidae family which includes cobras, mambas, and taipans. foaming at the mouth would be extreme, but uncontrolled twitching or muscles contraction would be expected. Twitching type reactions could come from Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake, Mojave rattlesnake, or some other species of neurotoxic venom producing Crotalid.

Frothing at the mouth is pretty rare in real life, and would not be a result of the bite of most snakes.

Most ingested poisons don't do it either. Rabies will sometimes do it, but not a lot else in humans.

Well, it would all depend on what sort of snake you're bitten by. Some venoms go straight for the nervous system, others the respiratory, etc etc etc.

The fer-del-ance of South America is greatly feared because, although its venom rarely kills, it attacks all the muscles of the area of injection. My uncle worked in the peace cor down there for several years and would see young children with the calf of their leg completely swelled; lame because those muscles no longer worked. -shudders-

Ah, the varieties of snake venom...

Yes if you go into a seizure or a heart attack from the venom.
