Its possible, Steph...
What a dark time for them.
As if losing one's baby is not enough...
Imagine having to endure the grief of losing a child together with accusations of murder of that child...
They must be breaking inside.
Thats why i hate the flippant conjecture most of which is in indulged in for mere "entertainment" value out here...

The Madeleine McCann case reminds me of the Dingo baby case in Australia back in the 80s (it was made into a film called "A Cry In The Dark" with Meryl Streep).
There was the shock of the baby's disappearance followed by a backlash against the parents which eventually lead to the mother being wrongly charged with the child's death (she was subsequently found innocent when the baby's clothes were found and it was established that a Dingo, a wild Australian dog, had taken the baby and eaten it.)
I'd be very surprised if Kate McCann had anything to do with the disappearance of her daughter, but you never know what people are capable of. Let's hope she doesn't get jailed for it if she really is innocent.

There is no way anyone is gonna be framed. The whole world is watching and the Portuguese Police would never get away with it and why would they want to frame them? In my opinion the Police should of took the possibility of the parents being involved more seriously quicker!
The Kate McCann is a suspect because she has done something or hid evidence from the Police and they have evidence back from the blood spot test and other tests. Gerry will be next.

No i dont think so.
Im a great believer in innocent until proven guilty, but in this case i cant help but be swayed against the McCanns. In alot of child abduction cases the parents are watched very carefully and at some point they do slip up, make a mistake and the awful truth comes out.
I still would like to believe a couple have taken her and are looking after her in the way she should be as the beautiful little princess she is. The light is fading on my belief, hopefully the truth will come out over the next few days.

just about everyone especially the press had Murat tried and found guilty without a shred of evidence against him .
It is now strange that the same people are suggesting a frame up of the Mccanns when there appears to be scientific proof of thier involvement , proof obtained by British experts e.g DNA etc

This case has generated so much interest and the McCanns have received so much high level support that it doesn't make any sense at all for the Portuguese police to try and frame the McCanns.
As far as I'm concerned this development is a logical one.

No. Not in the slightest. The parents should have been investigated from the very beginning. They lied constantly and contradicted each other and the Tapas 9. If they had nothing to hide, they had nothing to fear, right?
I cannot believe the amount of McFans dragging up the "blame the abductor" crap again. There is no and never has been any evidence to support this theory, save the word of the McCanns themselves. IF they had said aliens abducted Madeleine, would you still believe them? An alien abduction has about as much evidence to support it as the McCann's abduction theory.
Edit: and as for The McCann's "grief", there is NO DOUBT whatsoever that had they done their job as responsible parents and provided care for their children...we would never even have heard of Madeleine at all. THEY left three children under three alone every night in an unlocked hotel room. Their grief is immaterial, it's Madeleine who deserves our sympathy, not them.

its all a bit scary.
the whole thought that the police are under soooo much pressure because the world is looking at them criticising them, they really need to start coming up with answers. and mb they are just clutching at straws and trying to trick the McCanns into admitting something that isnt true. i know myself that if i was "interviewed" for 11 hours that id probably slip up and say something stupid.
mb they were involved, mb all the evidence (if there ever is any) will prove that. but i dont think anything can ever be proven beyond doubt until that little girl is found, be her dead or alive, or a confession is made.
but it does scare me that people just seem to want to point the finger of blame at them when there is no real evidence that i know of.
i know ppl are going to say if they are innocent they have nothin to be worried about but we all know thats not true. the justice system is severly flawed and if these people are innocent, there still a chance they are going to get blamed for this.
they were very foolish to put their child in that position but thats done and dusted and theres no point debating that point. but i wouldnt like to see them charged for anything unless the evidence is real and grounded.

No. She would have been a suspect if back in the UK, it's just the Portugese police have cocked this up so much and the press have seen better days.
I will back the McCann's until the end as I believe they were no way involved in this.

I think she is being set up.
I just saw another question about the rental car. Does someone at that car depot have something to tell the police?
It's fecking weird .
Where is the police statement, and why are the British Police not speaking on behalf of these British people?
Pixiebell . I think she started worrying because of the fact that the exact same police cheif has been accused of framing another woman for murder...also, the hate campaign. Kate & Gerry have seen those, how would that make them feel...
They are innocent and being made scapegoats.

Hopefully the truth will eventually come out, but in the meantime there are so many possibilities that speculation is generally fruitless...
What amazes me is the number of people who are responding to the questions and several are saying, categorically, "They could never harm their own child", "They are being framed" etc etc. Just remember that infanticide may not be common, but it is far from "unheard of". I appreciate that we'd all love for the McCanns to be proved innocent and for Madeline to be returned home etc etc, but we do not live in a perfect world.
Before you start shouting people down for having their doubts, remember that if it ever came out that they DID actually have something to do with it, you're going to look just as foolish (in addition to naive) as the people on here who don't immediately trust the "victims".
Is that cynical? Yes, but history is filled with the public being let down by figures that they previously trusted
