Damp is a problem in my bathroom and recently I had to cut out some green mould in the bottom conera of the wall and patch it up. After having a shower(with the fan on which is located above the shower) there is still lots of steam. On cold mornings, the steam turns into conensation and it stains the paintwork. help please

keep your shower open and leave the fan on for a longer than just the duration of your shower... try 20 mintes or longer, a timer may work depending on your switch setup

there will always be some condensation on the walls after a long shower unless you have a tornado for a fan

also there is speciall bathroom paint that inhibits growth, if you have a bunch of mold, bleach the mold and prime and paint with this

shower fans are great, but once the steam extends outside the shower, it will create moisture. I installed a fan in the main portion of my bathroom, and it draws all the moisture from the room. May want to give that a shot.

good luck

Exhaust is just half of the problem. You should have enough exhaust to remove the steam before is begins getting the walls wet.

The type of paint in the bathroom should be anti-fowling. In other words anti mold or algae.

You should also have a supply register installed in your bathroom that will allow air conditioning (heat and/or cool) to help maintain good air quality.

If you can shower with the door cracked open to let out excess steam... Also, try opening the window a crack... Or putting in a stronger fan...

I would think that the fan is not getting the air out of the bathroom. The air flow is restricted somehow.Check to make sure the outside vent is working. If it is then upgrade to a larger fan.

Best one is a Panasonic - Call a local Ferguson Enterprises. They start around $120 and are worth every penny.

It may be that a fan just isn't going to be enough -- you might try putting a dehumidifier in there.

You may need to clean the fan and oil it.
