I live in Hull, and want to get broadband, but the package offered by Kingston Communications doesn't appeal and is expensive compared to others. Kingston Communications say they don't run a monopoly , but people I have spoken to say you can only get Kingston Communications broadband, because other broadband suppliers say they don't cover the Hull area. Is this correct.

Hi Joe, I live in Hull too. I think we have an appalling situation here. Apparently, if we want AOL or any of the other providers we would have to pay for our Hull land line, broadband connection and also pay by the minute for any time we use!!! If that's not a monopoly I don't know what is!!!! My friend tried this and got her phone bill. It was so high and she was so upset that she got rid of her phone!! She now uses a mobile for all her calls. I agree with you. This company is terrible and needs a kick up the backside!!!!!

That is correct. It is true Kingston does not run a monopoly but other does not prove service for your area so Kingston does have a legal monopoly. One thing you might want to look into is Satellite broadband.

Surely they cant do that - BT should supply you with a land-line call them.... and sign up to aol and get a free laptop... or sign up to 3's new wireless service.
