Plants that like growing in the crevices of the rocks. You could try Sempivivums (house leeks), Thyme, Phlox, saxifraga and campanula.

Look for plants in the alpine section in your local garden centre.

Maybe consider some bulbs too like crocus, cyclamen, miniature daffodils like tete a tete and alliums.

Think about the colours you want in your garden. Do you want to just have a few colours or just 1 or a variety?

Buy a few things each time you go the garden centre in flower so that you always have something to look at.

Dont forget if something isnt happy where you've put it you can always move it somewhere else.

You might have problems with some alpine plants and over spray from your water feature. Lights both above and below the water are magical. One plant that does well for me near water are Impatiens. In last months 100 degree weather, even in the shade my Impatiens suffered, but those in full sun near the water flourished RScott.
