im only two days away from my due date and all day yesterday and still up until this morning i have been having painful contractions!! its driving me crazy! i always end up with these timable contractions but then they dont add up to anything. yesterday and today they're more painful then before though. some of them i can walk and talk through and others i cant. i have been 3 cms and 75% thinned out for a lil over 3 wks now! i go into the doc today and im gonna beg her to do something about this cause i dont know how much more i can take!!
my question is for anyone who dealt with this same kinda problem. did u have contractions that would come and go?? how long did it take to actually go into labor?? do u think this is the very early stages that just need a "jump start"? what was your expierence with early labor?? anything like this??

Oh you poor thing! I had 'false labour' every night for weeks leading up to the actual birth, a couple of times I had the phone in my hand to ring the hospital to check but they would go away only to come back the next night. Then 2 days over due it started again after having niggly pains during the day and I knew it was 'the time'!! Something tells you when its the real thing, I can't explain the feeling but you will know when its true labour. (that and the pain doesn't go away anymore!)
Don't let the doctor do anything except a 'stretch and sweep' at the appointment as this will probably get you the rest of the way. You are so close to going into labour naturally that I would strongly advise not being induced! It sucks compared to natural labour (my 1st was induced and it was horrible compared with the 2nd natural labour). Wait another week (or less), you'll be a mummy by then!!!
Try having sex, sex, sex and sweep by the doc and you should be in established labour in no time!!
~best of luck~

Hi there new mom... congrats cause your baby is now on it's way... i had the same experience, My due date suppose to be on 25th of September but the contraction begun on the 22nd and i gave birth on the 23rd. Well there are different types of labor depending on many factors. Contractions at first exist for every hour until it decrease to 30 min. interlaps... 25... 20... 15... and so on... In my own experience it begun at the dawn of Sept. 22.. it's a very irritating feeling that you can't understand what you really wanted... and like having constipation. I know then that I'm about to give birth that's why i keep on walking to make it fast... and then at night i called my doctor cause i cant sleep because of the pain then she advice me to go to the clinic so they could perform an IE or check the cm. It is 5cm at 1am on the 23rd and they told me to wait and keep walking for it to become 10cm so we could proceed to the delivery. at 4am it became 9cm and we thought it would continue to 10 but it doesn't so we've waited and finally at 9am i gave birth. It's really a long hours of waiting but as i've said there are different kinds of labors. My water bag never broke by itself, my doctor is the one who opened it. If your water bag broke, prepare for the next big thing! Be strong and pray...

it is the early signs of true labor. i did this with my 2nd pregnancy. you need to get up and walk it will make the contractions so strong you will get where it hurts and will need help(i did)walking. it will also get you to the point wher you will see your first sign of blood when you go to the restroom and try to pee. you will know for sure it is time to go the hospital. sometimes it may take alot of walking to see results, sometimes not so long since you have been having these pains for a couple days. good luck and best wishes. congrats on your baby.

2 days from your due date is not early labor
When they "guess" your due date is never right on the dot. Also I would think you are a prime canidate to be in the hospital if you are 3cm and 75% thinned. I would call the hospital or your dr now because once that baby decides to come there is no stopping it . I know a friend who had her baby 20 min. after her water broke!
good luck~!

Oh i know what thats like I was in labour for three days.
With contractions five sec appart for two of them. If they dont induce you and you cant sleep ask for something to help you sleep they gave me a sleeping tablet (docter prescribed) and and the (what they called braxton hicks contrations) stoped enough for me to get some sleep before the big event.
Goodluck

yeap my labour contractions were never regular, some were 5mins apart then they could be 13 when the pain got too soar i went to the hospital and the examined me and i was 7cm dilated. Try doing some walking if you can manage it before you go to the doctor it will help things along.

Try and keep as active as possible, going for walks etc , it is supposed to help the contractions on (it did for me). when I was in hospital with my first there was a lady in then and her contractions kept dropping off because she wasnt walking around enough.
good luck x
