If a 10 year old EFI engine cranks but does not start and there is no smell of gasoline at tailpipe, could?

the electric fuel pump be dead? Spark plugs and timing belt are new.

you should have a port on the fuel rack that u can put a screw driver in and see if fuel is coming out when the key is first turn on also listen for a slight vibration for the fuel pump .

sounds like it aint getting any fuel.
