Our cars are mostlikely the 2nd most expensive thing we own (after our homes). No matter what part of town you live in auto theft is a concern, expecially if you drive a nice vicheal. How do YOU keep your car safe and out of the hands of stoner 17 year old car thieves?
I personally have a aftermarket alarm that has motion sensors inside and glass shatter sensors.

Have a car with an engine immobiliser and lock it every time you leave it.

Alarms are pretty much useless (since they go off when no one is steeling a car so often no one pays any attention to them) and so are after market steering wheel locks (bought by people too clueless to know that their car has a built in steering wheel lock).

I have the cheapest car in the neighborhood apart from the methmobiles. If someone vandalized my car, I might not notice, ever.

Nothing gives you peace of mind like a car which you've ensured won't strand you in the middle of nowhere (through proper maintenance)....but which is so cheap you can afford to lose it entirely.

Also, it has an alarm.

good alarm

lock it

steering wheel lock

put it in a garage

or install a driveway post (if you have a drive)

one of my mate use to have a big chain that was round a nearby tree and put it around the rear axle witha big heavy duty lock.

First you have to love it and when you think something is so wrong take time to take it to the car repairing dudes, second don't let someone clumsy or someone who doesn't know how to drive borrow it (no matter how much they cry or plead) but don't show them it's so important just show them that you care for your car and just being careful with it... I hope I helped!

A battery disconect works great as well. The best thing to get is "Car replacement" through Allstate. If it's totalled or stolen within 3 years, you get a new one.
