Well of course truth is stranger than fiction; fiction is limited by real experiences.
For example, it is generally believed in Science Fiction circles that if aliens exist, then they'd be far different than anything humans could imagine (as we do not yet have real experience for our imaginations to draw from). Indeed, that is one of the reasons that many people reject abductees’ stories; they are too human in nature. If an alien abduction were real, it would be far stranger than what is reported.
However, truth is always both simpler and more complex than fiction. That is, random chance is more likely to connect events than a mass conspiracy, but that random chance follows a very specific patter that could be quantified if we could record and analyze all the variables (unfortunately, every human on the planet would be a variable so it is impossible).

Some of the things I've heard of and witnessed over the last half-century or so convince me that truth is indeed stranger than fiction, It would take a genius to come up with some of the stuff I've observed, and it would be too fantastic to be believable fiction.

I 'spose it's because most people just plain and simply believe what they want to believe and that's, that...
I am a multiple abductee and I belong to a small group of abductee's who don't question another's credibility, as we all have similar stories to tell...
When you tell other people of your experiences the majority of people scoff at you, so as you can imagine it's not a subject you bring up down the Pub over a beer....
Blessed Be... )O(

Yes, sometimes it is true. I have two uteruses. hehe, its a real congenital anomaly. I dont know if its twinning or what but its ratio is one in every 2thousand people. Some people have two complete sets, thats two uteruses and four ovaries, wild...but I just have the uteruses, :) you cant really tell unless I tell you, but its a neat little factoid that I get people cross eyed over.

People believe what they choose to believe, same as you, same as me.
The fact they, or we, believe or disbelieve something has no bearing on whether it's truth or fiction.
