I let my cat in the house @ 5:30am. And I saw that he had ran through a spider web, the black & yellow spider still haging on. came running into the house. And I can not find the spider!!! Just want to know how long can he live in my house if I can't find it?

if it was one of the garden spiders, an Orb, she can live for quite a while without eating.... she won't hurt you unless you try to pick her up and it sounds like you wouldn't try that!!... she bites, but it's not deadly...if you do see her, have the vacuum handy, that's the easiest way.... or if you're brave, put a glass over her, slide a stiff paper under the glass, hold the paper there and tote her outside again.... your cat will prob get her first tho....edit... she won't be preggers.. she leaves an egg case outside....

If it's an orb spider, she's coming to the end of her life. All she wants to do is leave her eggs in a nice protected sight. How awful it may be your house! If you find her, try to return her outside, she's a great pest predator. Otherwise, the above answer is right, vacuum often paying attention to dark areas.

It will live untill it dies. hopefully you got a good look at it's color pattern. You may want to identify it (as freaky as it is looking at pictures of spiders) unfortunatly it very well could be poisonus and lord knows you don't want that. And for your sake I hope you find it squished under your shoe. Good Luck
