At the moment I do. Just like a lost sould drifting in the wild seas trying to find a way out with no idea which direction to go.

Sometimes I see an island full of beauty and stability, but it always ends up being a mirage, an illusion or I will land on it and then soon be tossed out into the open sea again to fight against the currents.

Although I am not sad about this, I find it exciting and wild. It is a wild ride full of surprises. I think I would be bored if I found that island and I coudln't escape from it so I guess its ok to be lost.

Do you ever feel like this or is it just me?

I often dream of a place called the Island. Often I am standing on the shores at sunset, with a brilliant purple/orange tone to the sky, and not far from the mainland, maybe a kilometre out or so, I see an Island, a beautiful place, I often see my friends swimming out to it in water with no current to pull them away, yet I can't ever seem to reach it. I dream of it as a place where, from looking at it, I believe lot's of teenagers go.

I think if people say they never feel like this they are lying. We all go through stages where we feel completely lost.

However you are right. It can be an exciting ride. So strap yourself in and enjoy the ride. If you don't then you will never find yourself and your soul will wander for all eternity landing on islands only to be thrown back to the sea to fight your way to another island.

eventually you will find the one that isn't an illusion. When you do you will know, and you will be so happy. This is where you will find inner peace. Your soul will be happy.

Lost and displaced, yes, frequently.

Life seems too serious when it doesnt have to be. People have become so serious instead of lighthearted.

The island isnt a mirage its a place that exists in your mind and happy heart, hope that more people can find that island within themselves. Though it's difficult sometimes to maintain the happy island when others wish to trod their big feet over it and kick the turf, but they can never sink it.

I suppose, thrill and excitement of a free mind is due to sense of wonder about things that one may encounter randomly in a fantastic world. We may realize that there is an entire world in there to be explored, and all we need is just to let ourselves think and imagine. We also have ability to realize things within before we even feel any need to find them in a real world outside; it is like looking into the mirror for conformation, to see that everything is all right. We seek truth, beauty, justice and peace in this world, whereas, in reality, all these things we already have in ourselves, most innate to the mind.

Yours could not be merely an illusion, or a mirage. The glimpses of ‘beauty and tranquility’ that you see might very well be too real. Introspective adventures, however, are private affairs that you might not be able to share with other people around you that easily and fully, as mind would require in normal realistic situations. You then might like to stay lost in the enchanting and free world of your own, powerful fancies might not let you go.

There is also another danger, the danger of unnecessary familiarity with your own mind without any solid worldly purpose attached. One might be able to get to know oneself in one hundred thousand different ways, but would that knowledge be good and safe? Would you then be able to stand yourself in your strange, free and wonderful world alone? One must have fear for what one is, and what one could be. This is why we take great pleasure and consolation in knowing, great many good and great people around us, just to know how to know our inner world, how to handle it and unlock its potential. You could also have an established spiritual discipline as a reference, as a guide for your journey between an ideal world and a more realistic world. We always need to know how, and how far, we need to know ourselves at our best.

I would say that sometimes I am myself lost but in the sense that I am searching, not that I have found something marvelous the like of which I am not going to find anywhere else. For me, either of the two worlds on their own, the ideal and the real, the world of ideas and world of people and event, would ever be enough. I need to see if they both have a mutual correlation between them as I stand in the middle. I might be lost but because I am searching.
