Different pitch prop, but, this can only be changed so much as we will lose RPM and Power. Trimming the lower unit to lift (Plane) the boat out of the water to reduce drag helps. Boats are designed for a certain Hull Speed. If, we over power the boat, it may go well in a straight line, but, flip over in a turn. This is similar to a car with rear wheel drive. The rear end can actually try to come around and pass the front.

All boats have a hull speed if under 16" there 20 " off the transom like a trim tab that after 25mph it pushes the nose down>Over 16" to increase the speed over the cruising speed you need to double the hp> So to go faster make it lighter or add more hp>Nitro will only ware out what you have unless built for it>

That depends totally on the shape of your hull. if you do not have a planing hull increasing the output of you motor may not make any difference at all. If it is a planing hull there are many diferent things you could try. change the prop, gearbox, hull length, different engine, freeflow exhausts, twin or tripple carbs etc etc put the engine in a different place , the list goes on good luck

Go with the nitro! Maybe some ground effects wings and a giant fan.
