Why are there people who are Pro McCann? Who are these people? Where do they come from?
I know the McCanns have not been charged with anything, and innocent till proven guilty. But even the biggest McFan must admit something does smell fishy. No smoke without fire, i dont need to reel off the facts as im sure you are all aware.
And even if they are innocent they still left thier 3 beautiful young children alone, in an unlocked apartment, in a foriegn country.
How could you possibly be a McFan?
Thanks for all points of view.

I agree with you Bunny. This affair is seriously weird.
Those children were left unattended and that is absolutely dreadful

I don't understand why people are so horrible about the McCanns. Every year thousands of people go on holiday with their kids, and parents do leave their children alone for a time, and nothing happens. The McCanns were unlucky that someone predatory was watching for an opportunity. Now they are being villified simply for making their search for their child as public as possible. They are intelligent people and doing what any parent who had lost a child would do: they are trying to find out what happened to that child, and hoping (probably in vain now) that they will have their child back.
I can't help but wonder at these people who are so nasty about the McCanns and why they left their children alone. Do these people have children? Are they parents? Do they not realise that parents and children sometimes need a break from each other? I think that until you know and understand the stresses of being a parent, you cannot judge the McCanns for what they did and didn't do.
Mrs McCann is only deemed a 'suspect' as a formality, so that the Portuguese police can ask her 22 specific questions relating to the disappearance of her child. She did it voluntarily - does this not tell you that the woman is prepared to go to any lengths to get her child back?
I'm not a 'McFan'. I'm just someone who realises the additional stresses of media attention on people who are solely focused on getting back their precious and irreplaceable little girl.
And I think you people are horrible and evil for what you are suggesting, that the McCanns staged the child's disappearance just for the attention it would get them.

The reality of this whole situation is that none of us know what happened. Whether we choose to believe they are innocent until proven guilty or not, we don't have the answers and it's entirely possible that we never will - although I hope this isn't the case. For me, I prefer not to condemn someone without proof - and although yes, todays events don't look good, I am going to keep an open mind. It annoys me that people are so keen to vilify the McCanns based solely on their socio-economic group or on their looks, accents or demeanour. I don't find them particularly appealing either, but it doesn't necessarily make them guilty. If tomorrow, someone is found in Spain with Madeleine, will all the haters feel bad, or will they then focus on how they left the children in the first place to justify their hatred?

No one's perfect what really bugs me is these vitriolic and self righteous comments from other parents - it must be wonderful to be so perfect!! I thought we lived in a democracy - but obviously I'm mistaken - it's amazing how many people deem to be experts in this case. Shoot now - ask questions later.
It is a very sinister and disturbing case but unless you are sitting in on all the interviews and party to the evidence how can you possibly comment? You may have a hunch but that's all it can be - a hunch.
If the McCanns did it what possible motive - other than an accident they wish to cover up? Would you go to the trouble of launching a world wide campaign??

Couldn't agree more and why do they get SO aggressive.
We all know its Madeline who is the important factor and having said that it is important that it is discovered what happened to her and who is responsible.
By their very behaviour the McCanns have put the spotlight on themselves, they wanted a high profile and now its turned sour they don't like it.
An abduction and/or murder has happened.
The guilty person needs to be caught
The Portuguese police aren't stupid despite general opinion and seemed to have homed in on the parents.
They appear to all intents and purposes to be guilty
So lets just wait and see what the outcome is.
Why do people get so abusive on here. doesn't matter what the question is, its a good a reason as any to shout someone down.
Sad world.

I don't accept your terms Mcfan or pro McCann.
All I am saying is that ill informed prejudice should not be a mechanism under which anyone is judged.
I have no idea who abducted or possibly murdered their daughter and as of now...neither do you.
If one or both parents were to be charged with an offence, it appears to me that there is an unhealthy view that this would be something to celebrate?...THAT I am anti!
