I find it rather sad that what I believe to be a little straight talking should be counted as abuse. I'm not angry just sad.
It was a McCann question

Is the easy 2 points worth the risk of a violation and having to get a new account?

Hum.. I keep hearing complaints about this problem. It appears that whenever someone presses the report abuse button someone gets an automatic violation whether it is warranted or not. It also appears that the accusations are not being investigated. Maybe they don't feel they have the time to investigate each reported abuse. It is probably much easier for them to give you a violation or shut you down compared to the time it would take to see what you said and determine if it was abusive or not. There are so many people on Answers, Top Contributors and newbies always coming on each day that it makes little difference to them who gets violated and shut down. It is not fair and I think that this area of answers needs to be re-evaluated.

I have been violated for questions too. I use to go to Religion and Spirituality, but quit because that is the snake pit of reporting people and where people truly use the thumbs up and down and use it alot. I got tired of getting violation notices just for answering a question that was my opinion and true.

The yahoo answers policy is guilty no matter what. You don't get an oppourtunity to defend yourself, although they say you can dispute violations. I am on my third account thanks to people who report answers they don't agree with. You never get anything but a generic response from the "customer care team" at yahoo.
