The police have to look at every angle and possibility, a large percent of child abductions have something to do with the family, so the police are just doing their job. It does seem that something is fishy about the whole thing as it has been a long time and nobody has seen anything or knows anything. Let us all hope that Madeleine is found safe and justice will prevail.

I think it' because of the result of the tests done on the blood that was found on the wall in Madeleine's room at the apartment. The Portuguese police have the results but will not make them public knowledge. What does this suggest? Also they will be testing and have begun testing items of Kate's clothing as well. I have no idea what to think anymore... All I can say is that I feel for that poor little girl whatever has happened to her.

She is now a suspect because a police sniffer dog trained to find corpses indicated that clothes worn by Kate McCann on the night that Maddeline disappeared held the scent of a corpse. The dog also had the same response to the boot of the McCann's hire car.

We don't know why, the police have to be very careful what they say as if they accuse her and then its found out she had nothing to do with it she could try and sue them, obviously for such a long interview it wasn't purely going to be about her being a witness, they want to see if she slips up with her story, if she says something that is inconsistent with the findings they found in the room, and if her and Gerry's story don't correlate with one another, in most of these types of cases is is common for the parents to be seen as suspects, after all we are only going by what they say, who knows what went on, its best to keep an open mind, they may be guilty or not guilty but the police would have to have significant evidence by which to arrest either of them on.

Mrs McCann should quite rightly be treated as a suspect in this case, BUT that does not mean she had anything to do with her daughters disappearance. The police must investigate the case thoroughly and re-interview everyone they consider as suspects as often as it takes. Like I stated it does not mean Mrs McCann is guilty of anything, it quite simply means that the police are actually handling the investigation correctly and are leaving no stone unturned in their endeavours to uncover the truth.

The other 2 children are just babies and probably can`t even string a sentence together yet..as for making the mother a suspect it is so the police can ask further more probing questions,,the police can only ask a certain type of question until they are made official suspects

Mrs McCann has been pulled in first because the Portugese police think they can break her as the easier of the two. They will play a very very hard hand now.

Glaring inconsistencies in her statements.
Telephone conversations and emails since the disappearance.

For the police to monitor her telephone and email they must have got a warrant which suggests they have had their suspicions from early on!

Not that I don't care about this case, but, isn't there a British Answers forum that this could be posted in. We in the colonies dont hear that much about it. This is getting as bad as the HSM questions or the Bollywood ones. Just my two cents.

because she was stupid enough to leave 3 babies alone in an unknown place whilst she and her husband went and had a slap up meal... wonder how many times they have left them alone before? i dont think she had anything to do with her gonig missing... but i certainly think they should both be done for neglegance.
