I would suggest plain navy trousers or skirt, or maybe white. The best thing to do would be wear or take the top with you when you shop, there's so many different shades of navy.

My immediate reaction on seeing this question was "Oh NO. Not fashion! Are we going to have questions about Can I be Pregnant, as well?" But then I thought...hey, SOME women my age still care about fashion. Just because I love my jeans doesn't mean others have to be like me.
So, here it is...you have gotten great advice so far. I guess it would all depend on just what sort of look you want to pull off. If you want a casual look, you can go for some indigo jeans. If you want uber dressy, then go for a loose legged satin pant (anything tight in satin will show wrinkle lines from sitting). If you want to be dressy but conservative try going for a black or a navy pant in anything from lined organza to fine wool.
Your very BEST bet would be to wear the top out to the shops, and pick the look you like while trying on your different options.
In all cases, you should top the look off with a delicate, strappy 2 or 3 inch heeled shoe. Nothing flashy--you don't want people zooming in on your feet--it is the top that matters.

A pair of really well cut navy trousers, and high-heeled navy shoes with a little glitter somewhere on them...matching navy purse. You'll look like a million dollars.

According to my wife, it rather depends what shape you are. If you are top heavy, then you could get away with bright bottoms, turquoise or pink for instance, but if you are more pear shaped then a matching dark colour on the bottom would be better. Believe me, she knows what she is talking about, I've never met another woman with half the dress sense that she has.

How about some nice straight legged satin pants, so you can keep it as evening outfit? If it's only go a few sequins on, then get a non iron pair of pants that are very well cut.
Have a look at this site.
Good luck.
