They didn't necessarily "abduct" their daughter even if they are responsible for her going missing. There is a rumour that they gave their children sleeping medicine before going to that restaurant so that they would just sleep while the parents were gone, and there is suspicion that little Madelaine maybe got too much and died and that they're just trying to cover it up by saying she was abducted.

I have no idea what is true about this case, but it is really tragic nevertheless. I'd say let the police investigate this in peace and in the meantime the media and people should give the parents the benefit of the doubt. If they didn't really do it then it's horrible enough to lose their daughter without being called murderers and liars on top of it.

I am not sure but I am not surprised. The minute I heard Susan Smith say that a black man had car jacked her car with her two young boys in it I knew she was lying. There isn't a black man around that would drive around with to screaming white kids in the back seat. I thought something was up when they said that this child was abducted. The sad part aside from Maggie being dead at her own parents hands is they gave a description of a man that was seen around the hotel. If he didn't take her he could still have been arrested and charged with a crime he had nothing to do with. It's a real shame. If they did give them sleeping medicine that was an accident now it's murder.
