Dude, those are your old home movies you are thinking of. All the zombies crawl out of the holes and your brother goes "merp!" then you all eat brains and go to the zoo. Fun times!!

Is it the one called the time machine where the man goes into the future and their are a mutaed mob underground who feed on the cattle like humans who live on the surface.~~

...must admit, I am very hard-pressed to recall a '70's film that matches your description; however, off the top of my head, I DO remember a film from 1989, that is quite similar. Could "The Dead Pit" possibly be what you're looking for???
