I download so much stuff through the Internet, but I used to do that in the afternoons, because of college. Now that I'm on holidays I download in the morning, and I've been literally shocked and amazed by the fast download speed! From 8kb/s to even 350kb/s (it's like a dream!). However, after 12pm it starts slowing down again. Is there any reason why download is faster in the morning?

yea, when using the internet, consider it like driving. some hours of the day the traffic is lighter, so you can go faster, but if it's rush hour... as for cops, that would be a cap on your internet bandwidth, but you would have to ask your internet service provider if they have one with your service. also, check wat speeds your supposed to b getting, because if that's not a typo (8 kb/s) then that is freaking slow. go to www.speedtest.net and test your speed with the yellow pyramid, then if it's less than 70% of what your paying for in speeds, call your internet provider and tell them it's running slow. otherwise your paying for something your not getting. you should (even during rush hour) always get at least 70%

Your internet comes from a network which your Internet Provider provides you with. You and everyone else that's paying for the service uses the same network. When more people uses it, the slower and the less people, the faster.

It all depends where your downloading from? Are your downloading from a site which a lot of Americans use? If so, our morning you will find most Americans a sleep, because USA are about 8 hours behind the UK and once they wake up (our afternoon and evening) they will take up more bandwidth from that site, meaning slower download speeds.

Hope this helps

Since very less people use internet in those timings and so the internet bandwidth is fully available for those using in that time.
In the remaining times since the load is more, the bandwidth needs to be distributed

of course it has to be faster cause the pressure in the internet in the morning is less than in the afternoon......cause all the people use the internet in the afternoon .......in their rest time ....cause morning is a work time to all

Most Internet users start at 10am until 12midnight, there are only few users in the morning that makes your browser speed faster.
less user less traffic you have..

Your ISP obviously use a shared bandwidth system in your area, as soon as more people go on line, your speed reduces.
