That's ok. My husband (and his size 16.5 shoe) kicked the wall while we were play-wrestling and did the same thing. And we're renters.

You'll have to repair the drywall/sheet rock, and unfortunately it's very difficult to entirely mask the repair. I hate to read, so you should watch this video.

I also hate to ask my way around stores, so just get something like this and a piece of drywall and you should be all set.

Good luck!

Hole Punched In Wall

I'm presuming you're talking about a drywall/sheetrock wall. Cut an opening around the hole that is recangular in shape, and just big enough to encompass the hole you punched. Get another piece of sheetrock, and cut a matching "plug." Fill the hole with the plug. Cover the new area with tape-and-bedding tape where it meets the old wall, and then with spackle. Extend the spackle onto the original wall somewhat, and match the texture as well as possible. Once the spackle has dried, paint over the area.

Call the local handyman other wise it would be a pain or otherwise noticable if fixed by one who doesn't know how. Just be glad you didn't hit the stud. Been there, broken knuckles. Otherwise, go to the local hardware store get some mesh joint tape. Cover the hole overlaping the edges by an inch and then apply joint compound with a (8") dry wall knife. you will have to let it dry after each coat for 12 to 24 hours, add coats as needed in the same manner afterwards until level with the suface. Then sand lightly with #100 sand paper and paint with the closest color you can find. After all of this buy a punching bag.

How you fix the hole depends on how large of a hole there is. If the hole is relatively small, you can buy a special patch at Home Depot. The patch has a piece of metal stuck to some drywall tape. You apply the patch over the hole and then apply joint compound to this, feather the compound out past the edges so it blends in with the rest of the wall. You can then prime it and paint it.

If the hole is relatively large, I would use a utility knife and cut the hole out to the wall studs on either side and then buy a piece of drywall of the same thickness and use it to patch the wall. Screw the drywall to the studs and apply drywall tape and compound to the seams. Once dry, sand it smooth, prime and paint.

Depending on the size, it can be difficult or easy to repair. If your dad is handy, see if he has any drywall compound around or 'fixall' type products. You can stuff newspaper into the hole until there is enough backing to have the drywall compound stick in place. It takes a number of applications to fill up the hole to be level with the wall. You need a putty knife or drywall knife (blade) to level it off. Better yet, just hang a poster or a big sticker over it and then tell your dad when he is a good mood. Do you have a friend who is handy who can help you out? Maybe that would work. You can make a hole disappear, but of course you need to paint it to match.

Stuff it up with foam which you buy in a local hardaware store...you spray it out of a can and it extends...and then you cover it up with polyfilla and paint it the same colour as the wall!
But be sure to remember to brush your hand against the wall etc...top make it look ols and like the rest of the wall

Go to home Depot, there's a patch you can get, looks like a steel plate and comes in various sizes to fit most smaller holes, once it's on you simply patch with spackling over it and then sand, that's it.

I will go for a Marilyn Monroe poster. Nothing better than seeing such a beautiful being! Or just fill the hole up with gum.

first you get an electric drill and a screw driver bit and some screws and a piece of plank.

now the wood goes inside the wall and you screw it tight from the outside......yeah? then you screw a piece of gyp-rock to the plank, roughly filling the hole. now you need some gyp-rock mud or polyfilla to fill in between the old material and the new. when it's dry, you can sand and get ready to paint.
