A lot of times.
When you were younger, you tend to be idealistic.
As years passed, you tend to be more practical.
When you get older, you go back being idealistic.

I didn't change the basics of how I dress. I do try to be a little more conservative when going to their schools though if I have to go to a meeting or something. But pretty much I look and act the same. I refuse to give up everything that I enjoy to try and fit some image of what a mother should be. I've had people put me down for being the mom with tattoos and piercings. And generally those that put me down had kids that were failing and always in trouble....while my kids get A's and B's and pretty much stay out of trouble. I don't know....I never cared too much about the social norms and at my age I don't think I'm going to any time soon. My kids don't know me any other way and seeing as how my 5 yr old asked me to redye my hair pink I don't think they care too much.

If we aim to get meaning from searching for our own happiness, we're always going to be aiming at a moving target. First of all, what gives us happy feelings changes over the years. Secondly, if we consider that all we're doing is chasing some feelings, then our sense of our lives having a meaning disappears.

I can't figure out why so many people equate happy feelings with meaning. Just look at some of those "what is the meaning of life?" questions. The majority of the answers will be to the question, "how can I find happy feelings?"

I do a very bad thing, mix science with philosophy. Basically any situation can be broken down and just defined as a chemical reaction or protons and neutrons floating around colliding with each other, and that's all that every happens in this world, millions of little atoms floating around colliding, which ends up being the deciding factor in every decision, every argument, every action, every movement, why you blink, why you crave a certain food, why it took so long for us to get to the moon. It's all just molecules colliding, nothing anyone has any control over. Sit back and enjoy the ride, that's the meaning of life :)

Hi Jazmyn. I've asked myself this question many times. The only answer i can come up with is the following : We were created by God for the primary purpose of worshipping him. All other factors such as our families, our health and so on are gifts from God to make our lives comfortable. When i state that we are here on earth for God's worship, i am not only referring to worshipping God in the manner that is known to us. Together with that, i am referring to being of service to mankind. Charity, whether in cash or lending a helping hand are all acts of worship. Lending a helping hand could be, assisting a local orphanage, helping the elderly , giving food to a beggar or an animal that comes to your door. etc. I hope that my perspective on your question has helped. Regards Ghøst

I've asked myself 42 times.

Each time, the answer was 42.

In all seriousness, only a couple of times, and lately, the answers have been moving from "to just have fun" toward "to make the world a better place".
