On paper this one is an easy one to call...Roger Federer. While I won't deviate from that prediction, I'll offer some spice:
Davydenko is having a fantastic summer AND US Open. Secondly, Roger just came off one heck of a battle with Andy Roddick. Though you never really got the feeling that Roger was going to lose either of the tie-breaks, the fact that they WERE tiebreaks in two consecutive sets still wears on the mind...even if you're Roger.
Davydenko's consistancy is lethal and I personally think the longer the rally goes, the more it favors Davydenko (all things being equal).
The problem is that Nikolay doesn't have an offensive weapon to use against Roger. Could you imagine how the match with Roddick would have gone if Andy would have had Nikolay's consistancy and patience? Changes the whole complexion of the match-up.
Bottom line is that while Nikolay is as consistant as Roger, he simply doesn't have a knockout punch to put Roger in trouble.
Roger in straight sets.

Although Federer leads 9-0 in the series against Davydenko, the 4th seed has the most impressive run of all the semifinalists. He hasn't lost any set at US Open this year and he is playing really amazing and he is very self-confident. I hope he wins the match, because than Novak would have a much easier job in the finals, because everyone must admit that Federer deserves the No.1 spot (but not for a long time :) ), and he cannot easily be beaten. However, Djokovic is going to win this title...

Federer beat Andy at his best, in straight sets.
Federer hasn't lost a match at the US Open since 2003.
Federer has 11 grand slam titles.
Federer ....
Nikolay Davydenko is definitely one of the most consistent players out there, but he simple isn't in Roger's club. In fact, no one is.
