My car was driven by my Son and he ran a red light and the camera caught him. I've been researching this and it says that if it wasnt you driving the car they cant ask you who drove it, but still have to pay this ticket. so my question is, can i just send the money through mail? or do i have to go in person to pay this off and do i have to sign anything?

Normally you send the money through the mail.. It depends on the state you are in whether there are points attached, but most places there are no points because they have the plate, but no picture of the driver. Of serious nature is the fact it was a red light. Make sure your son understands the dangers of red light running.
Ignore the guy who says you can just blow it off. Some places like Manitoba, they will not allow renewal of registration or driver licence for the owner of the vehicle with an unpaid red light camera ticket.

The ticket, that was sent to you, should have an address or telephone number on it. It should have instructions. I doubt you would have to show up to court for a red light ticket unless you wanted to fight it. Follow the info on the ticket and just mail a check and then call the courthouse clerk a few days later to verify that it has been recieved.

Depends on where you are. Most places that have tried red light cameras have had very low collection rates. Most people who get tickets just blow them off.

I can't in sincerety recommend this, but if you mail in the money they'll probably be so happy to get it they won't have a problem with it.

Good luck.

you can just take the rap, pay the ticket and it will be against your record, or nominate your son as the driver and let him wear the rap, if you dont let him take the rap then he will always be a mummys/daddys boy and you will always protect him when he has done something wrong!

If you do the crime pay the penalty!
