Sometimes I want to leave someone a voicemail message but not actually talk to them live (like a text, but as voice). Is there a way to leave a voicemail for someone at a mobile number, but not have their phone ring for them while you're ringing?

it depends on the providers voicemail setup, if you are on the same provider as the person you are trying to call, try replacing the lead 0 with 121 so 07123456789 would become 1217123456789 (this definatly workds on vodafone, not sure about other providers)

Nope.

It is the system that only after so many 'rings' the voice mail kicks in. This is controlled by the server of the provider of the person you are calling. You can not influence that. Maybe some provider has an option that will allow that but I never come across it.

Your only option is a text message. If you text a message to a non mobile the text will be read to that person by a 'robot'.

Hello Alchemist,
Easy this , if you don't wanna leave a voice mail then don't phone them, the way it works is the call goes to voicemail when they are busy or the mobile is off, the only other alternative is to TEXT THEM.
And you are how old ?
Never heard a question like this before.

Why do people aswer no, and dont actually have a clue.

On some networks (eg Three) you can. Just call your own voicemail and wait for the option to 'send a voicemail'

I think if you push # right when the phone starts to ring, it will make it go to the voicemail.

yes, you can leave a voicemail for someone without their phone ringing. just call 888-5-SENDABUZ (888-573-6322), record your message, enter their phone number, and your message will appear in their voicemail.
