I know its an Edlebrock thats it. I've heard that most are the same as far as setting the fuel mixture, but which of the two screws on the front of the carb are what, and how do I set them to make the car run first, then better?

It helps to know if your running a 2bbl or 4bbl. Edelbrock and Holley are almost identical.

This is a simplified answer. You need to hook up an rpm gauge and turn the screws(1-air mixture and 1 gas mixture) until you get the highest rpm. Then you set to idle specs. Get a Chilton manual for guidance.

You need to buy a tuning manual for the carb---try a speed shop or Edelbrock. Lots of variables in settings for optimum tune...mixture, jetting, power valve, accelerator pump and squirters, secondaries, etc....make sure carb is for a 'Stang or compatible.

If you don't know enough about them take it to the garage and get them to set it up for you it's about a 10 minute job so the can't charge you the earth for it
