the fact that a guy called Kevin Harkins was the *honourable member for franklin* does make me a little concerned ...

Harkins is, was and always will be ( right from his school days) a cowardly thug who only ever had the guts to fight in a gang ( no balls of his own)... the REALLY funny thing re that is .. Had it been Possible for Rudd and Harkins to have gone to school together ... Poor Kevin Rudd would have been picked on unmericifully by Kevin Harkins and his bunch of so called "Tocumwal Toughs"
I have read reports of Harkins falling on his sword for the Labor Party ... WHAT A CROC...

ANYWAY Harkins HAS gone ....that has to be an UP.

I still will give my Vote to Rudd though .. YOU'RE attempting to use scare tactics by using the union line .. TO some people just the mention of JOHN HOWARD is enough to scare them to Vote labor.

EDIT:
Incidently I AM a union member ... BUT i am BITTERLY disappointed by the behaviour of the leading people in my union who are more intent on setting personal vendettas that the good of the workers....

there is a NEED for Unions .. BUT the unions DO need to be realistic in their demands .. union membership across the nation is falling and WHY .. because TOO many unions have MORONS in charge .. people who can NOT see the broader picture ..

YOU CAN NOT Crucify the companies or the management ... because SOMEBODY has to do their job....and crucify them enough and you place your own job in jeopardy ..

BOTH sides need to be reasonable

And a vote for the Libs is a direct vote for the Business Council of Australia, the Building Commission, and of course workchices, that word still exists just cos Johnny doesntwant to hear it anymore, a vote for the Libs means tougher workplace laws, abolition of more of our rights, removal of more state controlled legislation, more laziness on the subject of climate change.
I know who is a better candidate, if you dont then yuo got issues, sorry but te Howard government deserve no votes.
Oh and so what about the unions, the ALP was led by Bob Hawke in the 80s and he wasnt a problem, in fact he was one our best PMs.
Howard sucks

I am a UNION member and proud of it too.

And what is so wrong with the unions? Without them, workers would have even fewer rights than they have now. There would not even be a 40 hour working week, lunch breaks, overtime pay etc etc. Oh wait, Howard is taking those kinds of things away anyway. Collective bargaining i the way to fight for a workers rights. the unions are great, i am the union rep at my work and am proud of it.
Look at what Thatcher did to the unions in Britain - that is what howard the coward is trying to do to us now. Big mistake.
Anyway, i'd rather give my vote to a primary school kid than i would to Howard, they've got the same level of intelligence. (sorry kids.)

Exactly who do you think the Unions are? The Unions are the people working in an industry looking after each other's interests. A group of people together have a better chance of achieving stuff than individials. Everything you consider basic - holidays, holiday pay, penalty rates, overtime rates, sick leave, maternity leave, bereavement leave, specified work hours, leave loadings etc were all achieved by workers bargaining collectively with the bosses. These groups of workers are the Unions. If we relied on the altruism of employers, we would still be sending children down the mines.

Little Lying Johnny has tried to go back to relying on the altruism of employers and squeezing out the Unions. It won't work. Give me someone who has worked for a union any day over a fat slob like Hockey who wouldn't know a worker if he tripped over one on the way to the cocktail bar.

What unions are you referring to? There are no real unions left. John Howard destroyed them years ago. Him and people like you used to be quite proud of that! Now, because it suits you, you are resurrecting the Unions boogieman because you think it will scare people into voting for the Libs again. Wow, must be pretty desperate when fear tactics is all that is left with to fight.
Give it up - it is done and dusted!!
