It should also be pointed out that many wrestlers seem to prefer the fact that TNA is largely based in a single location (Orlando) which means that the wrestlers don't have to deal with the gruelling travel schedules that the WWE wrestlers have to deal with (I think I've read some WWE wrestlers say they spend 300 days a year on the road).

TNA only occasionally operates shows outside Orlando. I think that is mostly their monthly pay-per-view event. I think TNA's contracts are also less restrictive allowing TNA wrestlers to make appearances on indy cards. I know Samoa Joe was for a short time the PWA Champion and PWA is a small indy that operates mostly in suburban Toronto and Goderich, Ontario a small town of about 8,000 people that is the hometown of one of PWA's founders. Who I actually went to school with.

He felt that he wasn't being utilized fully and will likely never move beyond mid-card status in the WWE so he decided not to resign when his contract expired. He was immediately made into a top star and won the then NWA Word Championship short after his debut in TNA so he's probably happy with his decision.

Christian left because he felt the WWE didn't know how to utilize him. I don't think he left because he wasn't a Main Eventer in the WWE. Knowing your good but having your employer misuse you, that can lower anyones' morale.

In TNA, he is being utilized correctly (in my opinion).

It was a combination of being unhappy the way WWE was pushing his career and he wanted to cut back on the travel/schedule.
