A little bit of both. I'm basically an honest person who doesn't like to lie -- but you know, some truths are Just Not Helpful. I don't like to lie, but I have no problem avoiding the truth and saying nothing. (-: Sometimes it takes a lot of words to say nothing.

Can't agree with last part of Toltec's answer because the bible says "you shall now the truth and the truth shall set you free"-and sometimes we don't want to hear the truth,do we.
"Oh what tangled web's we weave when first we practice to deceive" so I am for truth.

No, I don't play with tangled webs anymore. They're hard to get out of and just too much trouble. The truth is my bond and I am quite proud of it.

I'm with Tracy it's always better to tell the truth because when the first time a lie is told it will be on the conscience for the rest of one's life. The lie could not be lived with because it would have to be covered up perhaps with another lie or even with a half truth.
