It depends on the paperwork you sign when applying for a job; some companies have you sign full releases to be considered, including complete medical, in that case, yes, it would show up.
As the more intensive a background search is, the more expensive it is, most places are not likely going to want to incur the additional expenses involved for a thorough background check, but some do. To get a job in retail sales or many office jobs, all they do is a criminal backgroud check and drug testing. However, some field where the public safety is a risk, they are more likely to go further indepth in a background check such as law enforcement related jobs, goverment contract related jobs, some medical related jobs and some child care facilities related jobs.

I'm going to say no. I have been hospitalized 2x , one was in a state locked facility. I just underwent the most thorough interview of my life. In 3 weeks I spoke with 4 managers,randomly drug screened and survived a federal background check. Nothing was reported. Besides the laws in this country protecting our rights to privacy are pretty solid

I wouldn't think so. Medical records should be private, and not available public records. Call the hospital to find out.
